Maia in the top secret dress' fabric

It’s not that I am not doing anything, it’s that I can’t post anything about it!!

A friend of mine (who occasionally reads this blog) asked me to make her something for her birthday instead of buying it. Having noticed that I was making myself some nice dresses and things, I suppose she was intrigued to see what a custom-made dress is like 🙂 Or in her great generosity, figured she’d save me a few quid. (she hates the word quid… Oh how I entertain myself…)

So I am currently working on a pretty dress for her. That is the top-secret dress. It will not look like the one on Maia (the doll), but it’s from the same fabric.

Watch this space 🙂

Well… Not fully done. Still needs hemming, but that’s going to be done on my colleague today (at work!)

The lilac is from a scrap of the lining of my grey businessy dress. The pink is from a scrap off my colleague’s dress. I love how easy dolls are to dress. A single seam will give them a perfectly wearable skirt! *sigh* If only we were as simple!!
